This series started off on its own. The original is actually a work on cardboard with water color crayons. I wanted pine trees because they are one of my favorite trees. And then it just took on a life of its own after the first stroke. I was energized and inspired by the Holy Spirit. After a while, I got involved with other projects and put it aside. When I finally revisited it, I knew I had something really amazing. I decided this needs to go on canvas as an oil painting. This was the start of Wind Spirit as a series. I made more sketches. And then I read a book called “The Shack”. In it the Holy Spirit was depicted as the Wind working in each soul like a gardener. So in my second piece, I knew I had to depict that energy- that special Wind. Series of 10 paintings in development.
What my series means to me:
- A celebration of color, shapes, lines, and of course trees and mountaintops.
- Sharing joy and peace that I feel while painting.
- The depiction of the Holy Spirit coursing through our lives.
- A song of praise for God's creation.
